Full live tracking requires MSFS 2020 or 2024 on a Windows simulator PC. Xbox and PS5 can use the career in manual mode, without telemetry.

Setup matrix

Four cockpit setups. Two experience levels.

“Supported” does not always mean “identical”. The matrix below shows which setups receive simulator telemetry and which depend on manual operation entry.

Console reality check

Xbox and PS5 keep the career. They lose the live flight layer.

Xbox and PlayStation do not expose a SimConnect telemetry stream to Pilot Journey. You can still choose operations, manage contracts, progress the career and record a result manually from a separate computer.

Technical briefing

Before you install.

Does Pilot Journey support third-party aircraft?

Pilot Journey reads standard simulator telemetry and lets you select the installed aircraft used for the operation. Aircraft-specific automation can vary when an add-on does not expose standard SimConnect values.

Does the career console need permanent internet?

Internet is required for activation, updates and online services such as SimBrief. The supported offline window is still being measured against the launch candidate and will be documented before sales open.

What happens after a disconnect?

Live telemetry stops until the connection returns. Reconnect from Sim & telemetry when possible, or release the active flight and restart it. The final recovery flow is still in launch verification.

Can I back up my career?

The career persists on the career-console computer. The separate export and backup workflow is still in launch verification and will be documented before sales open.
